Long, boring, pointless! Read the book, forget the movie. The book was a decent page-turner at best, despite its silly and contrived plot full of incompetent police detectives and secret societies. The movie makes all this way too obvious and more. The characters spend far too much time sitting around chatting about theology and history and not enough time doing. When they call it an "adapted" screenplay, that doesn't mean they should copy the book word for word. Sometimes, you have to take a few liberties in order to make a good movie, which this was not. I didn't pay for it in cash, but I paid for it in time, precious time. Boo!
