A History of Violence has its flaws, but they are almost negligible (awkward writing at times, occassionally stilted acting from some of the cast) What it does well though it does REALLY well. The violence is brief, yet wholly satisfying. I give the director credit for not using this annoying new camera technique that doesn't let me follow the action, as seen in so many movies nowadays. As for the people complaining about the random sex scenes, well, I thought the same way too, but at the end of the movie, if you think about it, it kind of makes sense. Ed Harris is superb.
