Average movie with average actors. Tom Cruise looks good as the bad guy and has some winner lines, but the guy's just doing the same shtick he always does. The concept is brilliant, but the execution (no pun intended) is a little flawed. The story is just way too contrived and coincidental, the film quality is grainy, especially in darker scenes, and Tom Cruise behaves extremely irrationally for a high-priced hitman. Some of the decisions he makes are just really stupid. For a similar kind of movie, you'd be better off renting 'Training Day.' It's more exciting, the acting is better and it makes more sense. This is just Hollywood summer fare, albeit entertaining Hollywood summer fare.
