This is the biggest letdown since The Matrix Reloaded. There is no way that Kill Bill Volume 1 and Kill Bill Volume 2 could possibly have been filmed as one movie. It's almost inconceivable that they could even have been filmed by the same director. Volume 1 was an action movie, plain and simple; this is a typical Tarantino film. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad movie, but if you loved the first one like I did, I find it hard to believe you would not be disappointed in this. And the big reason for that is that there is little satisfaction here. In Volume 1, we get to see the Bride get her bloody revenge all over the place, from Buck the hospital orderly to Vernita Green right up to O-ren and her Crazy 88. Every time someone bites the dust, it packs a punch. With this, Volume 2, you (I) feel like the Bride has turned into a big wimp, with the exception of one amazing fight sequence. She just seems to be too restrained, and we (I) feel like she just isn't really getting her revenge properly. In one instance, she encounters a real dirty scum-sucking pig of human waste, and you're just sure she's not gonna let this dirtbag walk away, otherwise why would they bother setting him up like that. What does she do? Nothing!!! That's not the Bride I remember from Volume 1, nosiree. She would've gone medieval on his butt. Disappointing. And don't even get me started on Bill. Watching Volume 1, we all get the impression that this guy is a real mean sonofagun. What we really see is that he's just another Quentin Tarantino big-mouth, blabbing about his Royale with cheese and whatnot. Their final encounter is so verbose and ultimately disappointing (and Sooo predictable that if you can't instantly figure out what's going to happen to Bill an hour and a half before it happens, then your brain must be out of order) that you wonder if censors had a hand in this. Nope. This is not what I wanted to see. Ranking the Tarantino films from best to worst: Kill Bill volume 1, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill volume 2, Jackie Brown, Reservoir Dogs. I feel cheated!!!
