First off, see that picture at the top of the page there where Queen Latifah is dragging Eddie Griffin around by his ankles? NOT IN THE MOVIE!!! In fact, that whole Matrix scene you see in the commercials, with all that talk of prophesizing and the frying pan and whatnot was not in the movie. Obviously, they drastically cut the scene down to size. Besides that act of false advertising, the movie was actually kind of disappointing. Only slightly better than Scary Movie 2, this one had its laughs spread out throughout the film as a near constant series of giggles, rather than the long stretches of humourless stupidity broken up by periods of absolute hilarity that was the second Scary Movie. There was one very funny scene, but other than that, it was mostly just chuckles, no gut-busting fits. I did think they managed to construct a good story that managed to tie The Ring to Signs, and I still think Anna Faris could easily be one of the funniest women on the planet; she just has a natural knack for comedy... and she's cute. BUT, the movie is a letdown. Why do spoof movies suck now? Remember Airplane? Naked Gun? And this was even directed by David Zucker. Tsk tsk tsk.
