21 Jump Street is like a time travel movie without the time travel. It only uses the series as a jumping off point for an entirely different experience. Jonah Hill is good, but Channing Tatum is great, showing a genuine knack for comedy. The first half of the movie is almost too funny to survive, and there is a bit of a lull after the halfway mark, but it picks up again and ends on a satisfying note. I'm putting it up there with the first Hangover, and definitely two notches above the second.
