Changing Lanes has two meanings in this movie. The first is the obvious event that sets the whole film in motion. The second is more symbolic of what becomes of the two main characters. While a little excessive at times and perhaps a wee bit contrived, this film is one of those that got me to actually reflect on myself and how I want to live my life. Very few movies can do this for me; in fact, I can count them on one hand. Changing Lanes is something like a cross between The Firm and Falling Down, but what it is really about is two men learning a lesson, albeit a very VERY hard lesson. I left the theatre feeling good, hopeful and happy (despite the fact there were two really annoying women behind me who just wouldn't shut UP!) I'm sure there will be plenty of people who will hate it because it's not the typical Hollywood trash they (and myself) were expecting. I used to dislike Ben Affleck as an actor, but I thought he handled this role quite nicely. Good film, go see it.
