The first half of the movie is really funny and different, then it starts to slide into shmaltz. Ricky Gervais is funny, but the fat jokes get old after the 100th or so, and his interest in Jennifer Garner makes no sense and contradicts the message of the movie; she's hot, but she's also shallow and materialistic, so when the movie tries to sell inner beauty, having the main character go for someone like that makes no sense. It drags and drags. Would have gotten a 5/10, but a few well-placed and unexpected cameos saved it from that.
