This movie is really polished, and has wonderfull special effects. Sam Rockwell is great. This movie was really original too. Certainly the best "moon" movie I have seen. Overall it was one of the best movies I have seen this year.

One of the most boring and ridiculous films I've ever seen. Weak story, horrid acting.

I stare at it once a month. I howl at it if the mood hits me. But I would have never thought it could provide any story telling we, 'earthlings', could enjoy. So, how 'good' is this movie? I'd say 'damn good'. WARNING: if you happen to be a console or PC gamer with a geeklike attention span this movie may be to cerebral and emotional for you. I digress, can you say possible Academy Awards, because this is a brilliant little film. The kind that requires crafting as opposed to muscles or 'steroids'. I won't gush anymore. If your interested in an intelligent sci-fi film this is for you. No BIG explosions-No ALIENs morphing-No SECRET weapons-No SPACE ships. That's right! No Flash Bang Grenade filmmaking. Just an actor, a series of sets, an environment and a really cool story. Kudos goes out to Duncan Jones, great young Director, and Sam Rockwell who's always been great. 9 out 10 may seem rich but as a film aficionado I'll take quality over quantity any day. See you at the front of the line. Cheers.

A good movie, but one could wait until it came out on DVD and not miss anything.

Well beyond expectations, well worth seeing. Keeps you thinking about it well after it has finished. Keeps you thinking about it well after its finished.

What is the world coming to? I have now seen two intelligent "science fiction" in the last 2 weeks - first "District 9 " and now " Moon". definitely Moon is a thinking person's movie. Anyone looking for Sabre laser fights and "Let the Force be with you" dialogue are going to be dissapointed. The pace is slow, but the tension builds right from the start. The whole concept is intriguing - and the metaphors to life as we know it are un- mistakable. The acting is good - a little off center - but who wouldn't be a little looney after being left alone for 3 years!! I'm a harsh judge of movies most of the time - but this one really caught my attention.

Stunning. A brilliant one-man performance. Think low-tech: this is not about sci-fi, per se. This is about what it means to be a human being. Rivals and complements 2001 A Space Odyssey. A tremendous achievement.

A very moving meditation on what it means to be human. A well crafted film.

Well conceived, acted and executed, thought provoking and moving, everything, in short, that good science fiction and, for that matter, good film, should be. My only (tiny) complaint is that the film was obviously not shot in 1/6 G, something the special effects people will no doubt sort out some day.

Great film, right up my alley. Indie style with isolation shots, character driven development, but masked in great production. I really loved the Moon shots (granted my friend felt they looked un-realistic at the end) but I completely disagreed and thought they were well done along with the rest of the movie. As with most movies, I give this a 9/10 losing a point for something missing in the storyline's resolve. If you like indie flicks, or Sam Rockwell, this is worth seeing.

On the positive side you have: great acting, cool sci-fi environnement, reflection about human right. On the negative side: the full story is in the trailer, no twist at the end, the movie a bit long (sometimes the camera is on the actor just to see how he behaves but maybe too many times), many dialogues. I am a sci-fi fan. I would recommand to any sci-fi fan to watch this movie one time... I will not watch it twice...

This was the best movie I have seen in a very in a very long time and immediately jumps into my favorite movies ever. MOON puts a relatable human touch on an intriguing and deep sci-fi story that, while it originally appears to be taking the path of 2001 Space Odyssey, is a unique adventure. Sam Rockwell puts on a spellbinding performance. What an actor!! Probably the best of his generation. I admire him immensely. Kevin Spacey's GERTY voice-over is excellent. I have never seen a movie that had me so intrigued from beginning to end. Some may say the film starts slowly but I found the first half hour to be an important and gripping portrayal of what it would mean to be alone in space, without which the movie would not be as effective. I don't want to ruin the plot so I wont go into further detail but I just hope that we, humans, we will never go THAT far in science. As an avid movie watcher who is not a sci-fi buff I would recommend this movie to anybody who wants to see a movie that will take over their lives for 2 hours and have you leave the theater wanting to do nothing but discuss how beautifully layered it was.

I really like the trailer, it looked like a great science fiction movie. It turned out to be the biggest disappointment of the season. Basically all you see in the trailer is all that happens.

Finally, a return to sci-fi that is about ideas not action. Sam Rockwell is fantastic - he pretty much has to carry the whole film on his shoulders and he does a brilliant job. Loved it. That being said, when I got into the elevator to leave the theatre, there were two groups of 50+ men who HATED it (as in "the worst film I've ever seen") - I think they were expecting action and special effects - if that is your thing, give this a pass; if however you feel like actually THINKING for a bit, this is a film for you!

In a world where Transformers 2 can make 400 million, I'm not surprised some people find this boring. If your brain can only be stimulated by flashes of metal and hot girls leaning over sports cars, don't go see this movie. But if you can still appreciate a good idea, and great acting, I highly recommend this one!

One would think that in an age when Aliens and Star Trek have already been done and overdone, it would be pretty difficult to make a Sci-Fi that just blows you away. It has been done with this phenomenal film. Bravo! Kudos to the filmmaker and his team. I thoroughly enjoyed this film and the layers it presents. There are so many themes running through this film all at once. One can enjoy it from a psychological perspective, or a purely artistic perspective. This film is layered with meaning and a real exploration of ideas. Great, great film not to be missed!

This movie is part sci-fi/part psychological thriller. It will make you ponder some deep ethical issues. Sam Rockwell gives a hell of a performace - he sinks into his character and his acting is flawless. There is even some comedy thrown in. For a person who doesn't generally like sci-fi, like me, you will be pleasantly surprised! You will think about this movie long after it's over. Kevin Spacey does a wonderful job lending his voice to the robot - it's dead on! BRAVO!

When you are downtown with four hours until your Clipper leaves, what do you do? Why go see Moon of course. I had never heard of this movie until today, but I can assure you that was no problem. Having only seen Sam Rockwell in Galaxy Quest and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, I had no idea of the extent of his acting ability. He is phenomenal. The story moves slowly, yes, but it is visual beauty. While there might be a hole in the plot here or there, it is nothing that ruins the movie. Worth your money.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] A fine sci-fi tale. Well written, and Sam Rockwell's is good - not his best, but good. This is not a special effects movie, which is encouraging for those who believe sci-fi is about the story. The notable flaws in this movie are its predictability and lack of in-depth character development. As for similarities with other sci-fi movies - well, yes there have been other movies with clone, anthropomorphic robots, extra-terrestrial mining. But, this movie isn't about technology, although technology dominates the setting. Its about the comoditization of the human soul for commercial purposes. It has more in common with Chaplin's Modern Times then most sci-fi movies. It does have similairties with Blade Runner, but the clones in Blade Runner were super-human freaks, and emotionally alien. Moon examines the issue of clones that are just like naturally born homo sapiens, just dispossable. A good rental for those who like narratives about deeper issues.

Moon was a very good film, I enjoyed it very much however I felt that it could have been more emotionally engaging. If the director had just worked on the soundtrack and scenery a little more. Sam Rockwell was fantastic.

A beautifully filmed, and acted movie, destined to be a Sci-fi classic. Simplistic, yet thoughtfully presented, and laid out. Reminded me of another Sci-fi favorite, Silent Running. If you love Sci-fi that stimulates the imagination, this is a must see!

A gently paced, reflective treatment of an interesting Sci-Fi notion... that may become reality soon enough. Sam Rockwell plays against himself adroitly. His emotional range is ferret-like, furtive and yet filled with longing. The film slyly raises ancient questions: What is consciousness? What is the relationship between the body and the soul? What is the difference between fate and destiny? What is the correct balance between servitude and freedom? These are cloaked by the more obvious modern framing: What is the ideal relationship between genetics, technology, market forces and ethics? But, the film fails to even hint about how to answer these. Mobilizing the creative and introspective courage required to answer even one would have made this film a winner - instead of a Kubrick afterthought.

Gritty sci-fi at its finest. Rockwell is outstanding. This is not a typical Hollywood space movie - no big explosions or laser fights - this is more of a psychological horror. The visual trickery is seamless and subtle and never overshadows the story. Destined to be a cult classic.

If you are a Sci-Fi fan you will love this movie. Incredible psychological Sci-Fi thriller. It's been a while since we have had a movie like this for fans of thoughtful and psychological Sci-Fi. (This movie and Star Trek, were the best ones of the year, thus far, in the Sci-Fi genre, in my opinion.) I actually enjoyed this one way more than Terminator or Transformers.

A good very good movie talking about cloning. Very powerful subject and treatment. You think about it long time after viewing and feel incorfortable when you see it. British sci-fi as it best. The acting is good but the movie seems to be not credible. Maybe we are not ready to talk about the subject!

Great film! Don't worry if someone tells you the 'twist' of this movie, it won't spoil the film at all.
