I actually don't get the low ratings on this one. It was a charming movie well played out on all parts. Much better than the average movie of the genre.

This movie honestly changed my life... I was considering cheating on my beautiful sweedish wife (also a 10) with a slightly shorter but also attractive (in a more mysterious / forbidden way) europen woman but this movie made me re-evaluate my priorities in life. Instead I'm going to volunteer with an organization that creates after school programs for inner city youth.

This is a terrific movie, thoughtful and compassionate without handing out moral lessons. The actors are superb especially Jude Law, Robin Wright-Penn and Rafi Gavron. The film is beautifully photographed (how can it be otherwise with Mr. Minghella at the helm? ) and the story is absolutely absorbing. This is as genuine a portrayal of modern life as can be. In hindsight it occurs to me the dialogue is sometimes too mannered. This would have been annoying but for the talent of the actors. They are so good I never felt a false note throughout the film. Go see this film. It's well worth your while.

I liked this because it was a bit different and had a good deal of emotional intensity which I like. The plot was bizarre and, in fact, unbelievable, but the characters and their problems were quite real. Jude Law however can't seem to escape the cheating-on-the-side roles. An artful escape.

This movie is a must for movie goers who believe that cinema is a serious art form. The movie not only tells a story but also tackles many of the problems of our modern day society such as racism, ethnic cleansing, the environment, urban decay, and marital breakdown. The script is excellent and the acting superb. Well worth the price of admission!

Self indulgent close ups of the "stars" - no real characterisation of the 'ARCHITECT" and lots of running around aimlessly and no wit whatsoever or drama for that matter. The happy ending sucked.

Definitely not for people that dont like slow movies. Great acting, hardly a surprise from Jude Law, Juliette Binoche and Robin Wright Penn. Really impressive were Rafi Gavron (Miro), Ray Winstone (Sandy, the cop) and the absolutely magnificent Vera Farmiga (Oana, the hooker) Im sure well see a lot of bigger roles for Vera Farmiga in the future..

It is disappointing that many of the previous reviews were not as generous to this movie. I found it interesting, exploring the lives of people that cross each other paths, and the story of adults confused about love and why and where to look for it. I think it is a movie worth seeing.

I loved it; great acting by Juliet Binoch and Jude Law, great flow of events that kept me involved in the emotional journey... a journey about giving love a chance to prevail... Exactly at the point when it seems to break.

The movie was great! It does a wonderful job of illustrating the human condition. People in this movie are more than 1 or 2 dimensional - they are flawed and conflicted but for all that are ultimately good. Highly recommend. (I am actually torn between giving this 8 or 9)

This movie was terrible... Bad acting and non-sympathetic characters... There were audible groans from the audience during various scenes. I did like the fact that the movie showcased the profession of Landscape architecture, although the main character never actually says he is a landscape architect, nor do we ever see him actually do any work...

I enjoyed this movie very much. It was a good story with some humorous moments to break up the more serious themes, much like real life. Jude Law was terrific as was Ravi Gavron who played the troubled youth. The ending provided a surprising and pleasing resolution."Breaking & entering" is not only a reference to the story line but is also an interesting metaphor for the human relations explored in this great drama. Your two hours will not be wasted. Go.
