In the great plains of the African wilderness, a 20-foot ape is found and is known simply as 'Joe' to the young woman who grew up with the creature for most of her life. Now on the run from poachers, the two make it to Los Angeles where they quickly become the talk of the town. However a terrible incident leads to Joe running rampant through downtown L.A. and even the young woman may not be able to stop him.
