The movie was really quite good and consistent with the books, I thought - I went with my boyfriend who's never read them and he thoroughly enjoyed it; I've read the series oh, probably 8 times over, and I enjoyed it too. The casting is dead on. Yes, it's that odd Brit humour. No, it's nothing like Men in Black (what a misapprehension that reviewer had about what to expect! ) While the movie was good, I strongly recommend that you also read the book and then read the sequels! Then read his Dirk Gently series! Adams was a fantastically funny and intelligent writer.
