When Judy and Peter begin to play a mysterious game they stumble across, they get more than they bargain for. They open the door to the magical and dangerous jungle world of Jumanji, in which Alan Parrish has been trapped for 26 years. With his help, they must try to save their own world from being taken over by the animal realm. The computer-animated creatures brought to life by a board game are fabulous, but a long way from the fanciful children's book, the onscreen adaptation presents a story that has become more terrifying for youngsters than exhilarating.
