[...] This movie is terribly boring, save yourself the two hours and do ANYTHING else.

Brilliant movie showing the immoral nature of men. It's amazing how this movie gets you to sympathize and even identify yourself with an immoral man.

"Young Adam" is an excellent film. The film is set in Glasgow, Scotland just after the war. Ewan McGregor is wonderful as the so call writer, who losses inspiration and finds himself a job as a bargeman. The film is beautifully photographed and catches the post war atmosphere, also the film score is great as well.

Brilliantly acted, McGregor conveys Joe's emotions with the slightest look and very few words, yet you know exactly what he is thinking and where he is headed. Invariably, he makes you sympathize with this amoral man. Kudos to the director who spun this suspense just right, not revealing too much information too soon... A must-see.

A story of Joe, a libidinous would-be writer working on the canals in post World War II Scotland. A real lesson in what happens when one refuses to take responsibility for one's actions. Wonderful cinematography and outstanding performances, something you'd expect from a British film.
