Excellent movie. I thought it would be a good date movie. An intellectual date movie. Erasing painful memories seems to create more problems. The relationship between Dunst and Wilkinson is a perfect example. Also it would appear that the loss of happy memories is always included with painful memories. It would be interesting to see how Joel's (Carrey) and Clementine's (Winslet)relationship turns out after they hear each others tape with the doctor. They chose to carry on but will it last to Clementine's wish to be married. Or are they doomed to break up for the reasons they indicated on the tape. Nietzsche's theory of "Eternal Recurrence" would indicate doom. But thanks to Dunst, history has not completely repeated. Perhaps there is hope for Clementine and Joel. I always believed if time is cyclical one can change circumstances for the better or the worse.
