Down with Love [2003] Movie Reviews on CinemaClock

Really DISAPPOINTING! Incoherent and incredulous script, no chemistry between the stars. I generally like Renee Zellwegger and Ewan McGregor but they were both awful in this film. McGregor wears one expression throughout this movie - all I can think of was how short he is - and Zellwegger seems unsure of what she was doing. The supporting cast was better but David Hyde Pierce was essentially playing Niles all over again. But most of all, the script is ridiculous. This film is so overhyped. It is all fluff but no substance. Not even funny. Any comparison to the Doris Day and Rock Hudson is completely false and way off mark. Only thing is to make one realize how good Day and Hudson were in those 60s rom-com films. I would not even rent it. Sitting through it again would be too painful and a complete waste of time.
