Leopold (Hugh Jackman) is accidentally transported through time from the late 19th century to present day New York. While the scientist who transported him tries to figure out how to correct their mistake, Kate (Meg Ryan), a friend of one of the scientists, keeps Leopold busy by showing him New York City. Soon, the two begin to fall in love with eachother.
