In a society of genetically engineered people, Jerome (Ethan Hawke), a natural birth or "in-valid," assumes the identity of a member of the genetic elite to pursue his goal of traveling into space with the Gattaca Aerospace Corporation. However, a week before his flight, a Gattaca mission director is murdered and an unnoticed eyelash singles out Jerome as a suspect.
