In celebration of the International Year of Biodiversity (2001), Lost Worlds seeks to understand the mystery of our natural environment. Take a journey from the fantastic Table Mountains of Venezuela, through the kelp forests of the Pacific, up to a world high above the streets of New York City, down into the soil of the Catskill Mountains and beyond. Weaving together different worlds and their life forms, the film provides insight into biodiversity and the varied relationships of living things, and ultimately into the puzzle of human survival itself. Lost Worlds - Life in the Balance, delivers the hopeful message that armed with a new understanding of our relationship with nature, each of us can make an important contribution and begin to shape a more sustainable future in balance with our environment.
