Even if you are not a fan of Western movies, you'll probably like this one. This is not a shoot-em-all-up movie. The acting is excellent, and the story moves along slowly but still keeping up the interest. Good movie for couples as well. Don't miss it.

I'm a fan of Westerns and I did find the set designs and costumes well done. Viggo Mortensen and Ed Harris are great leading men but Renee Zellweger seemed out of place at times. Jeremy Irons rounds out the cast but even with such strong support, the movie still fell short.

Wonderful story. Surprisingly for a western there were no barroom brawls. Enjoyed it very much.

Better than I thought. The only minor problem I had with it was Renee Zellweger's face as it looked puffy and fake for some reason, a bit distracting but other than that an enjoyable movie.

Ed Harris brings the "Western" back. Our heritage in this country can't be ignored. This film is truly a great one.

Good movie with a nice job done by the 2 dudes. Would have been much better without the lousy actress and the beyond-belief wrinkles her character introduces in the storyline (s) p.s. why do all cowboy actors have sparkling white teeth and why are all buildings in these dusty, beat-up towns looking like they are brand new?

Although I did find it surprisingly slow moving... I enjoyed this one. I loved the lineup it's so thoroughly pleasing to see your favourite actors all in one movie. I would definitely watch this one again Harris does a fine job creating a good ole western...

Well played and well written, BUT WHERE IS THE ACTION? Mostly bones little meat, to bad, because there wasn't much missing.

6.5. It's worth that much. I loved Ed & Viggo but no matter how many movies I've seen with Renée playing in it, I still have a hard time enduring her face!!!

Excellent realistic portrayal of an old western town and beautiful photography. Renee is both fetching and annoying. All about being an alpha male. Ed Harris is great.

It is too bad this movie has only a 6 or 7 out of 10. This is an excellent movie.

My friend and I both thought it was one long, boring movie."Unforgiven" it ain't. Ed Harris should stay in front of the camera and not behind it! It was so bad it will probably win alot of Oscars just like "No Country for Old Men". These are two movies I never want to see again.

It's great to see the western reinvented in the 21st century which avoids most clichés.

I was expecting a good old fashion western. What I got was something different... I wouldn't recommend this movie as a rental...

If you like westerns, this is a must see. Bravado, love, loyalty, deception, old-time values, it's all there. Virgo M and Ed H play very well opposite each other, and Jeremy Irons is a great "mean" guy.

If you like westerns go watch this, it's great! If you're not familiar with westerns, you might not like this... the movie is dry, and dry is a great quality for westerns... i never thought Viggo could make a good cowboy, but he was awesome... i'll buy the dvd, YOU should watch it...

It's funny. Really. Forget the trailer, it doesn't do the movie justice.

Good movie. The actors are excellent. Ed Harris makes an amazing western marshal. One thing I didn't understand though is the bar fight. Can someone explain to me why he was about to kill a man for no reason? I think Ed Harris is one of the best actors around. Now I find he's also a good writer and director.

The movie was a bit slow, I mean if I was the director's assistance I would make a lot of "deleted scenes", but in general it's a nice western movie with nice actions and the best part is the ending!! That's why I'll give it 7/10.

Viggo Mortensen is the best part of the movie. He would have made a great Wyatt Earp. Renee Zellweger ruined everything. Plot was stupid. I love westerns. This could have been a great movie about touch old west lawman. Very disappointed!!
