I have to admit I've seen some pretty gory movies in the last few years, but nothing compares to this... indeed this one tops the list. All I can say is that the film was an instant success in recreating the original thriller "My Bloody Valentine" from 1981. The only thing that surprised me was that the ending was very different from the first production. I liked it as I thought it drew things to a good close, but it left the film wide open for a possible sequel. It definitely kept me on the edge of my seat, and there were some scenes that practically made me jump right out of my skin. I'm afraid to say this movie almost puts the Saw movies to shame because of it's intensity of bloodshed and random violence which is so brutal. Aside from that the story itself is pretty simple and easy to follow, and the film ends up to be a who done it type of plot. However, I found the kills in this picture were quite ruthless and bloody. As for the acting, it was very good, and the cameras did not tend to turn away when victims were slaughtered, so as to let your imagination fill in the gory details. I also thought Jensen Ackles gave a fantastic performance. Tom Atkins was great too. Overall, an amazing movie. Don't miss it horror fans, but one word of warning... I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who has a weak stomach or weak heart.
