Liked it. I really like Costner and the little girl really did an excellent job. Made the movie.

Not a bad movie took my wife she enjoyed it, Kevin Costner and Madeline Carroll were amazing together.

Not exactly a movie for non_americans. More election cr-p.

Very silly. The end could be guessed. The idea in itself is improbable.

The pacing of this movie and changes in tone and focus make it worth seeing. Not only is the story well designed, the feel of the movie is fun and one you actually could take your younger family members to. This will become one of those movies that in the years to come people will say 'How come I didn't see it in the theatres? '

Cute movie! The young actress definitely seemed quite talented and smart! The ending came as a surprise but when you have some time to think about it, it isn't that bad of an ending! Good movie to see!

I was tossed back and forth as to the rating I would give this movie as I sat and watched it. It's not so much as a comedy but a few chuckles here and there were to be had. I am hoping the US canidates take some time to watch this film... maybe fast forward to the good parts. It tended to drag a bit and felt like they were stuffing things in to make the movie complete. I actually liked the ending. My friends and I discussed who we would have voted for on the way home and we all agreed on who it would have been. Relax and enjoy.

Great Movie. Politically astute with intelligent and witty dialogue. Very funny and tender at times. Well acted by both Kevin Costner and Madeline Carroll- the girl who plays his daughter.

First off... Kevin Costner's performance was for me was great, but the supreme acting came from a little girl by the name of Madeleine Carroll which is the reason I gave the movie 9 instead of 7... very heart warming/touching movie!!!

A star is born with Madeleine Carroll's performance. She deserves a ten. The story line was presented in such a way as to make it appear believable in an odd sort of way. The ending was such that it didn't really matter who won as both candidates had evolved over the course of the movie and picking a winner wasn't important. Very entertaining.

I loved it. It illustrates the real problems in life - choosing a path or avoiding it, or making a stand for something you hold on to or even keeping what you truly believed in.

I don't understand all the negative reviews this movie is getting. Madeleine Carroll just stole the show. She was amazing in this film. Kevin Costner is back to true form and it had a very relevant message that we need to listen to alittle more closely. The movie was well done, entertaining and at times touching. I don't agree with some other reviews stating Costner is preaching on a soap box because I don't believe he is. Think about the lies and manipulation by our own government which is perpetuated by the media and maybe you'll begin to see the true message of this film... to "open your eyes".

Very smart film with an important message (rare for Hollywood!) After seeing the film it is clear how the voters, politicians and even the media are to blame for the political mess of the USA. The film seems to beg the question: "Does anybody really care? Is there any sign of conscience on Earth? Or is everyone wrapped-up in their own ego and power? " Go see it if you care about what's going on politically in the US and Canada.

Okay so I personally think that this was the worst movie that I ever saw because the ending made no sence and in the middle it was just awful what I'm trying to say is that I waisted 10 dollars on nothing and I would much rather spend 10 dollors on a pack of candy LOL.

Kevin Costner should have remained in retirement... this 'comeback' goes no where. Only Madeline Carrol as his daughter Mollie offers any sparkle to this dreary political/comedy. Low brow, beer swilling trailer-park denizens as the spoiler for the political elite recall Bill Clinton and his escapades. Ho hum. Americana at its worst. If Frank Capra can see this treatment of 'populism' from heaven, he'll arrange for Costner to watch 'Mr. Smith Goes to Washington' 500 times as penance. Swing Vote is over acted, underwritten and a real let down.

Pretty good movie overall, a little preachy but so true about a country currently headed in wrong direction. Solid work by actors especially the young girl.

Improbable movie of one vote deciding the final outcome of the presidential election. Makes the audience feel sorry for the poor little girl who has to do everything to take care of her single father. Movie though, is presented lightly and in a funny way to the audience. Great acting by Kevin Costner and Madeline Carroll.

Silly. Over-acted. Badly written. They took a great idea (especially right before the election) and totally botched it. Very sad excuse for a movie.

Was a cute story but can't really say it was a comedy as it really was not overly funny. Enjoyed the story but it was a little disappointing, expected much better.

After reading the reviews in recent newspapers - I was pleasantly surprised to find this film much better than I had been led to believe. The acting is quite good especially Mare Winningham who has a small role that helps us to understand Bud (Kevin Costner)better. Good to see Judge Reinhold again and all the actors did a good job, including newcomer Madeleine Carroll. There are things to be learned from this film: each vote counts and one should take care in deciding for whom to vote; politicians are liars and fake whether they are on the left or right; in the west we are supposedly rich yet many of our people are poor and struggling; jobs are being lost and "insourcing" is the next threat... The audience in the theater seemed to enjoy the film etc. There are some rough edges and some times when it drags a bit, but on the whole - it was worth seeing. I would say this is worth 3 stars and not the bomb to 2 star ratings given by the critics.

I thought I was going to watch a really corny American movie... But, I was wrong! I really liked it and I would surely suggest it to y'all! It criticizes the average American because of his/her arrogance. It criticizes politicians and their willingness to go against their fundamental values just to win "a" vote. I thought of it as a fun movie, with some touching scenes as well...

Madeleine Carroll really made it for me. Great future in the movies for this young actor. I also liked Kevin Costner's role of a good ole' boy. Perhaps we are getting a glimpse at the heart of the actor's down to earth qualities. There is more to Kevin Costner than meets the eye.

Neat stuff. The premise is outrageous and entertaining. Though I would have given this movie a 7 or 8, Madeline Carroll's heartwarming performance made me boost it up to a 9 score. ( I hope the child does become screwed up in real life because of all the gliier that will be attached to this )

I really wasn't expecting much, but found it to be witty at times, touching when needed, and just a good character movie, as everyone played their role to perfection. The characters came off as believable and perhaps even more impressively for a movie involving politics, they also came off as sympathetic.

I was just blown away with Madeline Carrol! What a great little actor - so real and heartfelt. I really enjoyed watching this movie and it was very entertaining. I look for having a good experience at the movies, not to have to analyze everything I see, unlike so many others who write their comments.

This one was what I expected and even when discussing it with strangers prior to getting into this free screening, their guess was pretty well On The Money. They said "this will probably be one of those speech movies" and by that they meant "there's gonna be some political message here and not even near satirical either." They were right and one has to wonder who's doing it and WHY prior to the real U. S. Presidential election. The message we are finally given in this all too repetitive theme nowadays is "we're a rich country with so much potential yet our citizens are poor and we should be ashamed of ourselves for letting this happen to them." Yes admittedly there were funny moments in this movie-not excessive amounts though, but all-in-all it's pretty predictable and pretty lame far too often. Think about it and it does partially give away the movie but we do hear about it in the trailers etc., so here goes. Bud's daughter wrecks a vote and we should believe they'd allow this to happen and would care little that what they are doing is illegal? Guess it smacks of the real U. S. elections and how crooked the last one turned out (get less votes but you win anyway?) but this movie will not get great turnouts while it exists at the 1st-run theaters. 2 hours long and alot of weird turns in the bumpy road of politics but I thought it'd be funnier and faster paced. The statements made in this movie were predictable because we already know what the opinions of some of these actors is (Hopper for 1) and I guess they brought it with them and made sure we heard it in the movie. In short, THEIR MESSAGE! I'll end here on this note: I like most of the cast in this movie and expected better based on how they've mostly done in the past but now believe I shouldn't really rely on that the next time.

So, the movie looks good. The performances are good. The idea is good. The humor is there. But somehow, it all falls short of being a solid movie. The ending becomes yet another Chance for the Postman... er Kevin to preach patriotism to America. See Wag the Dog for a better look at political maniplulation.
