A reviewer above writes "Who cares if it is not totally acurate [sic]". To enjoy this movie, one mustn't care about accuracy, plot, acting, cinematography... Undoubtedly one of the worst movies ever. Calling the special effects a redeeming feature is like putting a really nice makeup job on a dead guy. He's still dead. Chris O'Donnell and Bill Paxton aren't compelling actors at the best of times, but these performances undercut even my worst expectations. Terrible. Kitschy, but not in a good way. At all. Cinematography was equally kitschy; the same lame, conventional slow zooms to a face contorted with pain (though not so contorted as mine was), fast cuts to opposing angles during avalanche scenes. Gasoline explosions where there should have been ammunition. The plot wasn't. If you couldn't predict in broad strokes what was going to happen at the end of the movie after the first five minutes, ask your family to take you off life support. You're never recovering from that coma. Avoid this movie at all costs. If someone pays you, don't go. Or bring a book. Anyone who enjoyed this movie could be entertained by the 3 am test pattern on Community Access TV.
