User's review

It is a very taut thriller that I relate to personally and professionally on deep levels. A decade ago I worked at a senior level in a global agency that 'fixed' issues for very large corporate clients. I understand Tom Wilkinson's manic flight all too well as a defense against psychotic and moral disintegration. He gives an excellent interpretation of the exaltation phase of a manic fugue. George Clooney oscillates between despair, indignation and gritty resolve in a fine performance. He is a bit too distracted by sub-plot conflicts. More could have been achieved by focusing on him as a Father. Tilda Swinton is obsessive and neurotic as the corporate counsel without a conscience who ultimately collapses in a most gratifying manner. If only tightening the moral compass could be so easily achieved in real life. This entertaining, grim tale is not far from reality. While I never saw a bomb blow up a car I did hurl and ducked from many psychic bombs just as devastating.
