This was definitely a cute movie. The only thing I found was the story went too fast.

I thought it was wonderful. Penelopes bedroom was fantastic! The fantasy bits that are in the movie and the mix of past and present tense and English and American was great. It was like a new land. I loved James McAvoy, Beautiful man. The kiss scene was amazing too!

I'm a big fan of Christina Ricci - I tend to see her stuff on principle. Always makes interesting choices. The films themselves are not always flawless, but that's what happens when you take chances."Penelope" charmed the pants off me and I thought the future Sir James McAvoy was great in the roll. It was a great spin on the ugly duckling story and major kudos to Reese Witherspoon for producing this. Definitley one to own on DVD as I can see myself watching it repeatedly.

Not a bad movie at all. I had really low expectations going in because I thought it was just another ugly duckling type film... but I was taken by surprise to find that the story was somewhat cute and entertaining. The movie was well cast and it all played out nicely.

Really good movie. There is no way it could have been done better. It was absolutely perfect in every way. The cast was amazing. Catherine O'Hara was absolutely hilarious as Jessica. Christina Ricci, played an amazing Penelope. Reese Witherspoon was the perfect sidekick. James McAvoy, added all the spunk and emotion needed. He gave a heart-warming performance and there is no way he could ever be replaced. The story line was incredible. It's the perfect movie to cheer anyone up, and it definitely deserves a two-thumbs up, and is worth investing in.

Definitely a chick flick but amusing enough that a guy can sit through it and not feel like he being punished. Girls will love it.

Oddly enough, the movie turned out to be more of a romance than a comedy. I personally loved it, but was left wanting more I guess you could say in a really weird way. I felt like it was just well... missing something. But any--who, awesome movie a must see for all (James McAvoy was amazingly hot and awesome as usual!! XD)

I just went to see that movie. I thought it was cute, and I really loved the atmosphere and settings but this movie doesn't need to be seen in theatre. I advise it to be rented. It was ok, it could of had more but still enjoyable.

Well, not a bad movie, kind of cute if you like this sort of thing. I usually see these types of movies when I win premiere tickets otherwise I would never pay to see fluff like this. I'm a guy baby and I'll take a good action or horror movie anytime over these ridiculous chick flicks.

I was a little disappointed with this movie. The plot was too simple and too predictable. There was a lack of character development and I felt that the movie was a little too short. Although, I'd have to admit that the setting is pretty, especially Penelope's bedroom.

Penelope is a refreshing and beautiful movie with a magical atmosphere as well as memorable lessons. And I can't stop jaw dropping every time I see screens with James McAvoy's zoomed face!

The premise was great and could have worked. However, the did not develop the James McAvoy character at all and left me confused and frustrated. Had they worked on his character, this movie could easily have been great.

I'm a really big James McAvoy fan so I couldn't miss this one. It's really cute and charming in places but definitely uneven and, in some cases, a little unclear. The dreaded pig's nose that everyone is so horrified by is actually kind of cute, especially with Christina Ricci's big brown eyes shining out above it so the cuteness kind of ruins the intended effect. However, James McAvoy is terrific, as usual and so is Catherine O'Hara, Peter Dinklage, and Christina Ricci. A definite must if you need something light to help you recover from a hard day.

Saw an advanced screening. Was quirky. Funny. Had those "awww" moments. I'm a fan of Ricci and Witherspoon, so them together, and the storyline made for an interesting movie.
