A decent action flick, the characters and story line have no real substance, its all about the flashy shootout scenes, among them a really well done sniper scene.

Decent movie. Better than I thought it would be. Acting was ok, the plot was a little off.

Shockingly bad, even for an action flick. And it could have been good. But somehow, the plot twists, the characters interacting, the dialogue, the scenes of violence, all of it seemed like it was hastily put together and ended in a total mess.

Lots of action, little plot just what I was in the mood for.

Ya ok... The movie plot was not so exciting... I fell asleep a few times... I thought it was quite a lot of gibberish. I really tried to give it a chance, but as the movie went on, I couldn't help and feel the boredom. I just don't get what the point was? I was disappointed as I was expecting something at least "not bad"... I honestly don't see what the others liked so much about it...

"VIOLENT++" is the name of the game! Hard to follow all those names at the beginning and the plot if there's any or if we actually care after a while. Andy Garcia has done much better movies than this. A copy cat à la Tarantino's twisted brain.

I had absolutely no clue what it was even about! Not during the entire thing and when they actually explained it at the end. They went through it so so fast. Crazy intense!

I enjoyed the movie I thought it was action packed and full of humor and great stars as well as up and coming stars. I also noticed that the film used two music stars to push the movie even further over the Box office edge. A definite thrill I would love a part deux. I recognized that there was an abundance of African American actors in this film and it was quite nice to see some Black talent working on a real good film in Hollywood. Big ups and kudos to the director.

Movie was good in theory, but was not set up well for the story felt choppy from cuts and the stuff that they left in was not that good the preview seems like a non stop action the movie is non stop boredom with action breaks so you don't fall asleep.

I found this a good movie. I had heard some bad reviews and was not going to see it. I was reading the comments here and one changed my mind. It stated that it was a mob movie, what do you expect. There was lots of action and violence. This what I expect in a mob movie. I enjoyed the actors the played in the movie. I reminded me like the style the Crank was in. It too, was a good action flick. If your looking for an Oscar winning movie do not go. If you like action, go see it.

I won't spend too much time on this HACK of a movie but let me say that if filmmaking and storytelling is about suspending belief, why would you start a movie off with the most unbelieveable scene imagineable? Hollywood: mobsters DO NOT talk about killing people on the phone, let alone mention dates and names. GIVE ME A BREAK! I won't waste my time on another word.

This film just missed the boat on being fantastic, instead it tries to take itself too seriously. Alicia Keys and Common stand out, and when the musicians are the best actors, you can bet something's gone wrong somewhere.

WARNING: This movie contains a LOT of irony, some underdeveloped interesting characters and not much else. If you really love ironic situations then you will love this movie. If you want to see a story or a lot of explosions then you will be disappointed. A lot of people get shot, some sliced, but on the whole the gore is pretty low key for this type of movie. I was left with the feeling that the writer came up with a lot of interesting characters but ran out of time when they tried to develop them all.

The movie was a bit confusing at times and there was not much character development. On the positive side there are a few intense scenes and Alica Keys looks real hot, I mean real hot in a hooker outfit!

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] I usually like a good bloody Quarentino or a witty Ritchie, but here you find neither of them. -- Violence wise, it's not much really. I mean, there's blood, gun fight but the really violent scene are not gore, and they are not realist. Professional hitmen don't use chainsaw hidden under their coat. Scenario wise, it is also pretty average. The initial concept was interesting but the rest... There are some good points: Ben Affleck dies early, the actors do fit in their role and the movie is peppered with laughs. But all in all, after seeing Pan's Labyrinth yesterday, Smoking Aces just doesn't cut it. No even close.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] Hey, great movie, especially when Ben bites the bullet at the start... he sounded better dead as a mairionette with his lips moving thanks to a killer's help. Alcia Keyes was "smokin'" and could have had more lines and action in the movie to keep the male audience on edge. She was underused in this film, in my opinion. Plot was a little thick with the back and forth BS -stop that... let the story unfold in a chronilogical manner. Keep the sub-plots to a minimum - too distracting.

This movie was great. A few icky parts, but all in all, a must see. It's hilarious, plenty of rad (if unrealistic) action, and a sweet soundtrack... they actually play metal... an awesome movie.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] There are a lot of good things to say about this movie: 1. Great cast, everybody played their part to perfection (for that matter, it was probably a good idea to have Ben Affleck die early) 2. Very funny at times; some of the characters were very grotesque, to say the least. 3. Great action and a lot of blood; which is probably why one would watch this movie in the first place, eh? However, the plot is absolutely ridiculous. Instead of trying hard to make this movie a twisted suspense thing the writers should have stuck to plain action; it would have done the overall rating much good...

How do I say "complete garbage" without insulting the film makers or anyone who gave this more than a "1". This movie is your typical "give them what they want to see flick" ignoring one of the most important ingredients that make a movie great and that is... A FRIGGIN' PLOT! This movie will be used in the future for getting prisoners of war to talk.

This really had great potential to be a worthwhile... maybe even CLEVER movie. It was a great ensemble... but someone in the scriptwriting dept forgot to write up a plausible or close to interesting storyline. They insult the viewer by FEEDING us "clues" throughout the move (I guess they were trying to build suspense) they succeeded in only annoying me Then there was ben Affleck; pretty much playing ben Affleck (under the title of "bondsman") I would of left him of the cutting room floor (USELESS to plot/story/movie)!! The storyline must of been written up by like three different people who just added to what the other wrote; prior to reading what they wrote in the first place (like that game you play in elementary school; lets make a story; you write one line fold the paper so I only see the last word and then I add a line. So on... so forth.) In a nutshell. Lots of gore (tryin HARD to be clever like Tarantino) lots of gunfire... but little to no sense...

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] I want my money back! I went to see this movie because I wanted to see Ben Affleck. I read the bad reviews, but then I thought, a movie with Ben Affleck in it, cannot be all bad. Well Ben wasn't in it for more than about 10 minutes, and then he gets killed off. After that, the movie just went downhill fast. I wanted to leave the theatre, I was so disappointed and disgusted with the story line... that's because there wasn't any. The supporting cast members were, your run of the mill actors. So, so. Another, big disappointment, Ray Liotta gets killed off at the beginning of the movie as well. This movie if a big RIP OFF, they used Ben Affleck's name to attract US -the unsuspecting public. This movie is a TWO THUMBS DOWN. BARF, BARF. The rest of the movie was nothing but shootings, blood and guts, no story line to speak of. The three freaks with a hillbilly outfits and spiked hair with their chain saws, Were out of place in this Mobster movie. They dropped the ball on this one! Wait till this movie hits the video stores and rent it for $1.99 - that's all it's worth.'Do not waste your money on this FLOP! I read a review where someone was comparing this movie to Pulp Fiction, get real, Pulp Fiction with John Travolta was by far a better movie than this lousy flic. This movie will never be a cult favourite. It's too boring..

Not sure what all the fuss is about... maybe not an epic, but a good action show, I really enjoyed it. If The Departed is an A or A+ then this is an A- or B+ I thought... I'm beginning to believe that the shows that get mixed reviews on this site are the best to see...

I found this movie particularly entertaining considering it's been receiving terrible reviews from my friends! I don't know what people expect for the typical Hollywood mob genre: you can't get any better than this... albeit the lax FBI attitude would contradict that of the real entity but come on folks - don't be judgmental and enjoy the movie!!!
