What a little actress that Abigail. She's only 13 years old and she already caught my eye twice! First as an adorable not-like-everyone girl in Little Miss Sunshine and now as a human being fighting for her rights. Really impressive. The movie itself raises a number of interesting human rights issues. Both Cameron Diaz and Jason Patric hold the movie well while letting Abigail shine through and with Alec Baldwin playing a hard knocks lawyer it seems like every role was filed to perfection. Really great Cast, Really good story (though quite sad) and really good movie if it's the kind you are looking for.

I didn't read the book but I thought the movie was great! Very touching with very good acting. Gives you a good insight into what families must go through in dealing with a young member dying of cancer.

I loved this movie more than anything! I have never cried during a movie before but this movie was so detailed and so amazingly directed that I balled, in a great way! If you are unsure of this movie, in my opinion you will not be dissapointed!!

I think this movie is very depressing, I do understand that cancer is a serious context but that movie only gave me tears in my eyes but I didn't actually cry. The actors did a great job though! I don't know... I just didnt like it.

I have personally read this book and couldnt put it down, I love all of Jodi Picoults books and own almost all of them. Although this movie near the end wasn't correct at all with the book's ending, it was an amazing movie. The emotion I felt during the movie was incredible even when there were no dialouge, all I wanted to do was cry. This was a very sad movie but it is definitely a must see! I loved it!

I enjoyed this movie even though it was not as meaty as the book. Many issues were just left out. Allthe acting was great. The ending was the big surprise. Now you want the real sad ending - read the book!

Ignore every bad comment about this movie, it is an excellent movie, I have read the book and the movie is not as good as the book, but when books are turned into movies they never are the same. Just like Twilight. But you really do need tissues. !!

Very good movie, makes you think of the issues raised. How do you deal with terminal illness especially in a child. Actors were good and the plot was realistic.

I'm not too sure why anyone would say this was a bad movie, because it wasn't. Well acted, very realistic, heart felt... the only bad part about it was how sad it is at times. Definitely a tear jerker!

For some reason, there seems to be a lot of viewers who make a habit of judging performances even before they have seen them. That is pretty darn unfair! Performers work very hard at their craft, and in this case I thought Cameron Diaz did a very commendable job playing the mother. Some mothers you know, do still look quite young as their families grow up.

This movie was a TOTAL disappointment and a complete waste of your time and money. First of all the movie was totally different from the storylie that they portrayed in the commercials and also if you cried at this movie you would have to be the biggest sap ever!!! It wasn't even sad, the acting was very bad for Cameron Diaz and Sofia Vassilieva (the sick sister). I do not at all recommend wasting your money to go, even if it was free it would still not be worth your time!

I appreciated the storyline of the movie and how it was outlined, but I found that the offensive language took away from the beautiful story; it would have been so much nicer without it.

I went to go see the movie with my best friend because I have read the book. I was very disappointed with the movie because it didn't even sick to the storyline. Also it didn't give enough time for each of the characters to develope. If you have read the book it is a waste of your money to go see this in the theatres it is definitely a renter. Even my friend who did not read the book thought it was poorly done, this movie had so much portential but it failed to succeeded.

Good movie up until the end. The biggest turn of events in the book was changed in the movie. At that pointed I wanted to get up and leave. Up until then it was good. Now if you have NOT read the book then it would be a good movie.

I think if you go into this movie wanting the book, you will be upset, however that is always the way it goes. Books are always better, however I think in this case the movie was more realistic. The book was a bit too far fetched at the end, this was real life. A fabulous movie, this is coming from a cancer survivor as well as a person with a chronically ill child.

I really enjoyed the movie, and yes it pulls on your heart strings - but towards the end I was sooo disapointed as they changed the whole ending - the book ended totally different and lots was changed thru out - but, still very emotional and gives you two different perspectives from the book/movie... Cameron Diaz amazing acting!!!

This is a VERY touching movie. I felt every character's pain, joy and love. They all aced their performances. Nice to see Cameron Diaz in a dramatic role, she aced it; Jason Patric was fanominal; the kids were perfect and Joan Cusak and Alec Baldwin did a great job in supporting roles for this beautiful movie. Bring a box of tissues and enjoy. God bless all sick children and their families.

An extremely relevent and controversial topic that invariably will come up more often as scientific breakthroughs make almost any genetic selection possible. I read the book and thought the ending was far better. While reading the book, I was completely side-swiped by the tragic way it ended and thought it was a horrible waste of Anna and Kate's struggle. Although it's always impossible to fit an entire novel into a movie, I thought the film captured the essence of the book perfectly and highlighted the key incidents. Well cast too.

Book was excellent. Movie sucked. Rent it if you must, but not worth seeing after you have read the book. They changed so much and acting was mediocre. Jason Patric was great eye candy tho.

I enjoyed the movie, pretty real too life. Altho I thought the mom didn't always seem to play the part the way it could have been played and same with the brother. To two sisters & dad played their parts well. Good movie, if you got a chance to see it go for it.

Coming from a viewer that didn't get a chance to read the book, I really enjoyed it. I cried at least 5 times and the whole theatre was sniffling. If you have a brother or sister, go take them to see it. It'll make you look at the relationships with your siblings in a totally new way and make you appreciate them more. The story was sometimes a little hard to follow but after a while you get used to it. Acting wasn't bad either.

I unlike most hadn't read the novel. I've also never been personally affected by cancer in the family and I was so shocked and emotional! Definite tear jerker... and my roommate who has read the book hasn't seen it and its taking everything I've got not to tell her that the ending is way different!!!.. Not a date movie... too sad. Great movie but I couldn't watch it again.

Bring tissues; you'll need them. I, unfortunately, forgot mine, resulting in one tear-soaked sweater and an uncountable amount of funny looks from. A ridiculously sad movie, but somehow also enjoyable.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.]
The entire movie seemed like it was trying to make us cry, not genuinely but by using very dramatic form where it's almost impossible not to unless you don't have a heart or if you're one of those people who just doesn't emotionally invest in movies. Of course it sends some wonderful messages and Cameron Diaz is the best I've ever seen her and I came out feeling thoroughly uplifted yet semi-depressed but just be sure to bring kleenex because my sister and mother bawled and it was a good thing I knew them well enough to bring an entire box of tissues. And be prepared for the movie going from past to present and back again numerous times because we actually had this old lady in the theatre who was completely confused and shouting "oh her hair grew back, oh it's gone again" and other hilarious moments like that. She was good comic relief for this tear jerker.

Beautiful thought provoking and heart wrenching film. Cameron Diaz has at last got a role to get her teeth into and show us a little of what she is capable of. Everyone in this film was fabulous but the lead Sofia Vassilieva was fantastic, you anchored so deeply with her you felt every little thing. A beautiful piece beautifully shot with respect and compassion. I went with two teens and all of us thought it was superb and we discussed the story for quite a while afterwards. It is not a feel good movie if that is what you are looking for. It is about bravery and love and the many faces of it, good, bad and the ugly.

It's nothing compared to the book. They changed many things about it and they weren't good changes. I don't think they should say its based on the novel by jodi picoult because there were to many changes. The novel was 100% better. I was very disappointed with this film.

Hollywood adaptation of what I heard was a good book. They play on the "sad" button way too much and neglect character development of the family members. Sure the tears are flowing-you have to be rock not to. But the ending is dramatically different from the book. I suppose the "focus" groups now dictate how movies end. Don't you love those spreadsheet jockey accountants who now run Movie Art!!

My cousin and I went to see this movie hadn't read the book. HOLLY CRAP no *** bring the tissues it is by far the saddest movie I have ever seen, from beginning to the end. At one point I was so choked that insted of bawling out loud I burst out laughing, and a few followed. What can I say, it is my fault I knew this wouldn't be a comedy, but it way to sad. Summer weather is depressing enough I learned my lesson again I should be good for another 10 years!
