The problem with the Transformers franchise is that the first movie was too perfect. So anything that comes after the first movie will pale in comparison. Transformers 2 is its first victim. This one tries way too hard to be funny. The two twin Transformer cars are way too cliche and annoying. The one liners they come up with were popular in the 90's... not in 2009. Megan Fox is pure eye candy in this film, nothing more. And at some points, there is way too much action going on and its hard to tell which is an Autobot and which is a Decepticon. Now the good, Sam's college room mate is really funny... funnier than Sam. I also like the Sector 7 character in this movie (his name escapes me right now) In closing, they tried way too hard to be better then the first, which is an impossible thing to do. Hopefully the 3rd one will go back to being a cool, kick ass, action packed, top notch movie... hopefully.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] One of the worst movies I have ever seen. Even at just $2 it was not worth it. Poor plot, poor acting, poor dialogue. Ludicrous storylines: mom eating hash brownie on the first day of classes, hiding from a killer robot by running into a library, bad guys forgetting about the robot looking for a sliver but finding and kidnapping parents, etc., etc., etc. So many 2 dimensional characters, even for a cartoon moive. The NSA advisor, the twins, the web master. No imigination, no thought put into this 2 and a half hour mess. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

If you are 1-12 years old or brain dead you might like this movie, otherwise stay away from it. If you download movies don't waste our bandwidth! I was really hoping for something good, the first one was pretty good this was just silly and stupid, not in a good way.

I think I stopped having faith in Michael Bay two years ago, when I saw Transformers. I wonder why it took me so long, after all the man is responsible for such disastrous movies as Armageddon, Pearl Harbor and Bad Boys II, but I thought, maybe if he stays away from Jerry Bruckheimer things would be different. He almost proved me right with The Island which wasnt great, nor good, but it wasnt that bad either. Two years later, he is back with another Transfomers flick, his baby, and I went expecting to hate it. He proved me right for good this time. The first one wasnt that good, but it was almost kind of fun, even with all the unfunny humor and the preposterous plot. Just take the first one and multiply it by ten. Its ten times unfunnier and ten times more ridiculously plotted. Robots come from all over the place and we have no rights to ask how they appeared there, its even hard to differentiate them, especially when they fight. They have personalities and they can speak. Man I wish they were all broken like Bumblebee. Megan Fox cant act, and she's not even hot in my book, she looks plastic. Shia LaBeouf is slowly running out of charisma, repeating himself again and again and... oh well, lets not waste time talking about the acting. Its bad, just like everything else in the film, except maybe, the visual effects, of course. At times I found myself thinking: 'Man, transformers really do exist', but thats about it, I could dig, and still wouldnt find any more qualities. Terrible would summarize my experience, and its way too freaking long.

Huge disappointment after the first one. The only thing that saved this movie from getting a 1 was the numerous over the top Megan Fox running, and bending over scenes. The story was bad. The ending was worse. The "fighting" scenes were often and impossible to follow. It was much less accurate to the comic books than the first movie was. All in all, not a good movie.

For boys under 12, this movie is great, but that's all. The elements that made Transformers 1 a superior film, were missed here. Of course there are fantastic special effects but that's all. If you like seeing gigantic robots constantly fighting, then this one is for you, otherwise, just stay away.

Too long, attempts at humour were embarrassingly bad. Action and effects were good but everything else was weak.

Go see it if you want to watch Megan fox around. Other than that the first one was phenomenal and this one just kind of fizzled.

If you grew up on the original series like I did it's a fair movie. A far cry from the animated movie from 86 but not bad. F/x heavy all action little dialogue. The women charectors were weak at best. Lame atemps at comedy. Poorly done slapstick.

I thought this movie was the best I had seen this year. Way better than the first and way funnier. If your debating whether to or not, see it! It is sooo good.

They definitely made up for the dissapointment of the first one by fixing the two main problems: More Robots, More Action. That's what people want in a transformers movie, and looks like they figured it out in time for the sequel. Most of the humour was a little 'bleh', especially the two 'ethnic joke' robots, but they didn't take away too much from an otherwise enjoyable film.

Let's just say explosions (trees don't need to explode :P) and random gunshooting coould have been less. It did drag on a bit at times. There also could have been a better story line.

Awesome movie. Action was pretty sweet. Some of the "comedy" was a bit pointless but the movie was pretty good. The ending was Waaayyy to long. There were some things that contradicted itself but I can't wait for the sequel.

A movie thats isnt worth watching. It was targeted towards teens and the action was ok. The acting was so bad it was hard to watch and it didn't even come close to comparing to transformers 1. If your older then 15 dont bother it was pathetic.

I enjoyed it equally to the first film. I still think the transformations are to scrambled and really cover up that the current technology just can't make it look smooth yet. Or at least they didn't try hard enough. The ending was WAY too long and dragged, but I still enjoyed the film.

Shockingly, painfully bad. There's about 40 seconds of battle footage that I'd like to see again, and 2 hours 30 minutes I wish I could scrub from my brain. The performance of the Mom character was deeply embarrassing.

It wasn't as bad as everyone said it was. Yes, there was a lot more action and noise than one could take but it is an action movie, and we all know they're not the most realistic out there. It wasn't the best storyline or dialogue but I found it to be somewhat entertaining. Not nearly as good as the first one though.

This movie clearly shows no matter how many special effects you throw in, a movie stands on its story and in this case, it is a poor one indeed. The script is so convoluted it feels like a few guys sat at a bar and kept saying: "... and after that big boom, they can all go to Egypt... and after that explosion, we can have a super transformer act like a giant vacuum..." The whole experience felt like a giant epilectic episode and I have to wonder if all the positive reviews have been planted by studio hacks!

The movie was well crafted and was entertaining for all age groups, although not for very young children. Action was fantastic although so intense it was sometimes difficult to ascertain who was winning battles! Definitely a movie to see in the theatre.

Good quality. However, somewhat boring. There are many fighting scenes, which all looked pretty same. I felt asleep in the middle of the movie that's why I had no idea what the robots are fighting for. But the punching, crashing and exploting sceans are great. This is why I'm going to movies for this kind of movies...

What another brainless movie the hollywood made. Yes the special effect looks great on big screen, but that almost the only reason on big screen and I don't even want to watch it on DVD because of such brainless story. For such a huge investment, can't the producer invest some money on editor to make the story better than high school home work?

Definitely for kids. Granted I fell asleep three times (at different times) trying to watch the first one. I forced myself to stay awake for this one. Much too long. Acting and storyline go hand in hand and don't really get too great. The action is so-so, as I started with, this is definitely for kids as neither Transformers movie has impressed my in the CGI department.

The Fallen?!!!?!?!?!?!?!?! Why don't we just make up a villianous organization higher than Cobra for GIJOE 2, and call it the Pythons! Way to stray from the Transformers story to sell another movie, and whats with the Terminator girl in the film, how ridiculous! A transformer thats a human!!! HAHAHAHAHA what a crap film. P. S. I really enjoyed Transformers 2!!! Because I absolutely loved the first one, I set my expectations really high, and I wasn't dissapointed! The story line was a nice follow-up to the first, I'm glad they brought back most of the characters I thought would just fade away with the first movie. However, I felt that too many new characters were introduced all at once, and the ones that were loved in the first movie seemed to fade into the background. (for me it was Bumblebee, I wished he was a bigger part of the story.) Overall though it was great. It won't disapoint if you're a fan. :)
