If you are a middle eastern immigrant or second generation, you got to go see this. It will remind you of a lot of things, some emotional, some funny - probably make you homesick too - so beware! You will enjoy this movie.

I am a French Canadian and have been married to a Palestinian man for 27 years. The grandmother in the movie was so familiar - I laughed my head off. I have had the pleasure of visiting Bethlehem and I spent many years living in small town America when growing up. This little pearl of movie is a slice of real life with lots of amusing situations as well as the harder side of life. It was an authentic depiction of life in Bethlehem as well as the immigrants' struggle to adapt to a new life in a small American town where many people may not be open to "outsiders". The xenophobia and ignorance depicted in the movie are heartbreakingly true as is the the kindness, generosity and acceptance of most North Americans. A great little movie. Go see it.

Excellent film. Does a great job of contextualizing the hardships and dilemnas faced by many Palestinians under occupation. The movie is incredibly realistic, capturing much of the homesickness new immigrants face at being in a new environment. It also pays tribute to the tireless spirit of people searching for a better life and the ability of people to adapt any environment and find ways to find humour in even the most difficult of circumstances.

Very mediocre. The trailer is much better than the film itself. Average actors. Interesting idea but poor realization. I am not surprised there were just around 10 people, although the film had just appeared.

Great movie, well played and portrays the sad and funny reality of new immigrants! Plus you'll learn a bit about Palestine and its culture.

I was so pleasantly surprised to watch this beautiful and understated little film. It is delightful. The acting is marvelous and the way the story unfolds is heartbreaking. The fact that the film presents ideas without bias, as is and without bells and whistles, gives it a realism that is seldom seen in cinema these days. It is a sleeper hit in league with My Big Fat Greek Wedding and Little Miss Sunshine. Brimming with hilarious one liners and charm. A must see.

Though the topic is somewhat "cliché", perhaps become i´m an immigrant myself and have seen what fellow immigrants have to struggle with when moving to a new country, the movie is very well written, it's funny and definitely worth seeing. It´s by far better than any other Hollywood blockbusters I´ve seen lately. Go check this out if you have the chance!

Amazing! It had my full attention the entire time, when it ended I was disappointed since I didn't want it to continue. It flew by so fast. The movie is funny and touching yet, what it's about is upsetting.

I enjoyed the movie. Watching Muna suffer from culture shock after moving to America for greener grass. It's something I would think twice about before making the move.

It's a nice movie with a really touching story. I loved how Cherien was able to tell the story of so many immigrants who come to North America for a better life only to find more obstacles than where they came from. People get caught in between both worlds. Nisreen is absolutely adorable in the lead role, you end up falling in love with her and admiring her resolution and optimism, and Hiam Abbas as always managed a great performance.
