User's review

This movie is so violent, it makes Saving Private Ryan look like GI Joe, and there's a scene nearly as gross as the dinner scene from Hannibal. The 13+ rating is completely unreasonable; it is violent, bloody, noisy, vulgar, gorey, disgusting, racist, and destructive. In other words, totally deserving of a 10 out of 10. Whereas the first Bad Boys movie mixed the comedy and action in more distinctive sections, with long stretches of comedy in between action scenes, what we get here is lunatic violence almost all the way through, with the comedy sprinkled over it. It is, hands down, one of the most explosive, furiously-paced exercises in over-indulgence I've ever seen on a movie screen, an action movie in the truest sense of the word. Director Michael Bay is a pyromaniac in a folding chair. The bad stuff: the story goes from okay to kind of dumb, the ending sequence is absolutely idiotic, and the movie tends to wrap up its little emotional subplot without even telling us. Sure, all the gunplay and use of weapons is great in an action film, but when Will Smith points his hand cannon into the face of a 15-year old boy who's just coming to pick up a girl for a date, I sort of have to re-evaluate my opinion; they could have done without that little nugget. Yet, this is still the greatest ride I've had at the movies this year, except maybe for T3.
