Well, I mean this one ain't even half as good as the Peter Jackson movies, but since it was a lord of the rings movie lets still respect it I mean this one followed the books more but the fact that it was cartoon was badly thought out, I didn't really get into this one, but I'll rate it 6.

I thought that this was a very well-done movie until they started over-using the smudgy black animation that they used for the orcs. I also thought that they rushed through the events of The Two Towers too quickly, and didn't explain enough.

I really liked this movie. After I watched it I was totally excited to know what would happen next. This movie made me being interested in the triology. Great movie.

I believe that all you people who are giving it good ratings must be thinking of the new Peter Jackson ones, because this one (for lack of a better word) sucked. It scarred me for life, and it made me avoid the books for the longest time. I thought it was just stupid and didn't understand why anyone could like it. Then I went to see FOTR five years later. It changed my mind completely. But if this movie hadn't been so damn awful in the first place, I would have probably read the books, and known about LOTR alot sooner than I did. And that is something that should not be delayed.

I really enjoyed this movie. For the time it was made the special effects were amazing. I had been concerned that animation (I did not want a great book to be a cartoon) could not do the book justice but this one did. Very well done!

This movie was no fun at all. I saw it when I was a kid, and had a hard time following the story. Character development was totally absent. It convinced me this great book could not be made into a film. I was wrong.
