Stephen Dorff is a great actor, however it doenst show through in this movie! And im really not sure why Melanie Griffith was casted because she really brought the movie down. Aside, from the acting, I believe john waters is an amazing director with a flare for making great art. He really pays tribute to some of the great directors of our time as well. All in all, it wasnt bad.

Crap, crap, crap... You might say I just didn't get it, or it's not "mainstream" enough for me, but I just did not enjoy it. It was just really sick and stupid, and while I did watch through the end (I never leave in the middle of a movie), it was like torture the whole way through... Not to give it away, but I don't understand how this famous movie star can get kidnapped, dressed and made up like a hooker, have a tattoo burned on her, and be forced to run around like that in the street while being filmed, with a gun, and enjoy it! And what's up with the end when everyone's having sex and being killed? It was a horrible horrible movie, and I really wished a had never seen it in my life, it brought me nothing but pain.

This is one of those more 'artsy' films that you have to 'get', but I really liked it. It was different but still realistic, and makes you think about the film industry's whole image...

Once again Waters has bored me to tears. His predictable dialogue and simple charactures just don't move me. I should have learned from Pecker that he has no business directing any longer. There are a lot of great movies nowdays. Don't waste your time on this one.

I don`t know WHO that guy below my commentary is, but we certainly did NOT see the same movie. This movie was exhilirating! Effervescent! Down right fresh! The point of the whole thing was to rage against the stupidity that has ravaged Hollywood, only to reveal a pink underbelly still untouched by the likes of instituitional coneheads whose idea of movie perfection is TITANIC! I was dying of laughter in the theater only to have "Whitey" lean over and ask me to "pipe down", like it was TERMS OF ENDEARMENT or something. John Waters is the hero of the people. Rage on, my good man. - Demented 4-ever.

Since my review is going to be the only one for now, I feel some pressure to write a particularly helpful one for you, which is very difficult with this movie. It is certainly not traditional, kind of new... and at the same time, I feel there wasn't much to chew on. I know I'll have completely forgotten seeing it a month from now. There *are* some funny moments... But they get a little buried under the whole absurdity of the plot. Or maybe it's just the theme that doesn't reach me (the theme being how bad Hollywood movies are, basically). I prefer situations that refer to real human issues, even in comedy. I felt it was made for the movie industry people more than for me. I must also add that I really enjoyed Melanie Griffit. She adds so much interest to every scene she is in... which is all of them. Have no expectation, and you might just love it.
