Is the glass half empty or half full? I would say half empty. Of all of the horror movies I have seen, this is by far the most awful thing I have ever seen. I spent four dollars to see that movie... and I want the four dollars back... I would have rather paid the four bucks, and paid the fifteen for popcorn and drinks and sat in the lobby for an hour and a half instead of watch a film that got so over hyped."Scariest movie of the year" no it was scary because everything about it was cheap, and most of all done in the worst way possible. Avoid seeing this movie. The fact of the matter is that teletubies hip parade will give you more of a scare.

It's one of the worst movies i've seen all year, no maybe of all time. It had a very slow pace, and it had no action till about 25 min to go in the movie. I think that you should wait till it comes out on DVD or Blue Ray, go into a dark room with all the lights off in the dark with scariest thing you can think of next to you and try and watch it, then maybe it will be ok.

Anyone here who is interested in watching the movie Paranormal activity, please save your money, and get a higher source of entertainment in your vary own living room, by watching paint dry. NOT A JOKE. This movie was not scary, not funny, had no plot and was simply an utter waste of money and time. That is all.

Sure scared the hell out of me, the tension just keeps building as the scenes gets more intensed and sooner or later the tension just unleashes. Great movie if you're looking for a scare, but be aware that this movie left me with nightmares days after watching it.

It was a low budget film. But the hand-held camera is what makes it all seem so real. I love a good scarey movie... but I often find them very predictable, boring, and unrealistic. This movie keeps you on your toes and makes you wonder "what-if". You feel like it could happen to you. It's something different from the same old special effects and blood and gore. Just watch it.

This is a really great movie! Rarely get scared and this one scared me. It wasn't absolutely terrifying but defiantely worth your money. People also say its bad because of the low budget camera but thats what makes it even more real. So I say go and see it because it is good and if your cheap go on toonie tuesday lol.

The filmmaker slowly & patiently built tension with ever-increasing moments of fear leading one to anticipate an ending that would be one of the scariest film moments ever - but the ending of this film was only marginally frightening. The filmmaker could have done ANYTHING. With that in mind, the ending he chose is a very disappointing.

This movie sucked. It was boring until the last scene which was practically the only "activity" in this movie and by then it was definitely too late, it wasn't worth it. Nothing happened for the majority of the movie and like I said it sucked like Paris Hilton on a rainbow swirl lollypop. Never see this movie.

What sets this movie apart from your generic slash em' up, blood soaked fright fests, is the realistic approach to the subject matter and how it was filmed. The story plays out in the simplistic form of a documentary. Two young lovers trying to capture on film what is haunting the young woman during the wee hours of the night... The suspense was brilliantly posed. The slow burn of anxiety that smolders until the dramatic ending, keeps the viewer on edge with anticipation. The wait is palpable and worth it... Was it Oscar worthy? No... was it entertaining? Yes... if you enjoy a fright that is all about the unknown and chock full of raw emotion, then you will enjoy this endeavor!

I agree with "naruto", kinda planned on saying the same thing. You have to have belief in this stuff, or at least high interest because if not, if youre just a fan of the horror, then it will leave you coming to this site, saying it sucked. The beginning was slow but it got more in depth. When the night came, I found my heart beating like "oh crap, whats gonna happen this time? " definitely a movie to see for the people interested in demons, dark spirits, etc.

Being a lover of thriller and horror movies since age 7, I am always looking for something that, after all the movies of these genres I've seen, manages to get me. This was a great combination of suspense building, general creepiness, and actual scares. The image of Katie standing completely still over the bed for hours on end, and of course the last scene, will surely come to me at just the wrong time.

This movie is only good for those people who believe in the supernatural or watched those shows like Ghosthunters as kids. This movie literally sent chills up my spine and I couldn't wait for the next night to see what this ghost did next. I enjoyed it a lot, but it's a movie that is really slow in the beginning and builds the intensity with every night. A must-see scary movie!

I think my 6 out of 10 is mostly based on the fact that I'm really bored of this first person camera genre. It was cool in the Blair Witch days, it was pretty cool when it was combined with good special effects in Cloverfield, but now I'm bored. And who am I kidding. This couple is annoying! Overall an o. k. movie, which I could've done without.

I have personally been attacked by a demon, it was 3:01am when I glanced at my clock radio and closed my eyes... the next thing I am struggling with a demon who has me by the throat... laughing he tells me," you will be dead before morning" I prayed to God and his angels to save me and the demon fled. Just a movie you say, this movie has a very real theme that most of us recognize even though we may not be aware of it, if you must go see this movie, beware, demons do stalk the night. This movie scared me and I do not scare easily, I had no problem sleeping, after dealing with the real thing... it is just a movie after all!

Soo, I had heard reviews about this movie from friends, and I looked into a trailer and got hooked!! I was super stoked cause everyone said it was just different, and the previews showed that. It's not your typical horror film, it's not a slasher, and it's not blood guts and gore, but damn can it scare you. I give this a 10 out of 10 for design, style and creep factor. I can totally agree with Teniz, gurl, who left a review on the 13th of november. If you're a guy and you got a gf, take her, if u got a girl into scary movies, take her. She will be wanting to sit in your lap by the end. Or heck, by the middle like mine was :)

Sooo stupid. No one has that much balls to open a door that is being banged on when you've just been woken out of a dead sleep by a demonic sound! Too much foreshadowing and VERY bad acting... not scared enough to believe it was genuine. I can see this scaring the hell out of my 13 year old daughter but come on!

Ok some people either just get this movie or the rest of you don't. It's one or the other. If you're going to criticize it maybe you should think that you just didn't get into it and leave it at that. Not hard to get it and be scared though. Loved it!

So, so, so scared. Not much scares me but the paranormal and this movie had me closing my eyes and peeking through my hands that were covering my face. I typically like being scared, but this movie really really affected me and I hated some of the realy intense suspenseful moments when I was terrified. Had a hard time sleeping afterwards that's for sure...

Friends and I went into it thinking we were about to see something TOTALLY freaky and scary (like the trailers and reviews said) but came out wondering if we had seen the same movie that everyone else had been seeing. It was okay, nothing great. Though in some spots (mostly ONLY the end) it was creepy but not scary. It was worth seeing if you rent it or see it at a friends house. Or better yet rent The Blair Witch Project instead of seeing Paranormal Activity in theaters.

There was so much hype about this movie I was expecting much better. I didn't have high expectations for a movie that cost less than $15,000 to make but something that at least had more to scare you with than what they showed in the previews. Even the ending!!! A handful of actual parts that made you feel the suspense, and everyone in the theatre, including ourselves, said out loud "that's it? " when the movie ended. Not even worth a rent in my opinion.

I think the movie was excellent, the fact that the people were real people and it was real footage for the most part not trained actors just made it scarier. The alternate "fake" ending made my heart race much more then the actual ending even knowing it was fake. Plus the ending was masterfully done so if you didnt know it was fake you never would have guessed it. I am glad I spent the money to go see it the first time and happily paid to see it again. Definitely a must see for anyone sensitive or looking for a thrill.

The producers give you exactly what they're selling: a Blair Witch-style filming of paranormal activity the builds in intensity during the film. If you don't buy into the premise, you won't enjoy the film. I liked the premise and I got exactly what I expected. So there's no need for so much cynicism in these reviews.

I think I already saw this movie ten years ago. Oh, yeah, it was called the Blair Witch Project. Instead of it being in the '90s it's a 2000's con-movie. Terrible 'acting'.
