This film tells a tale of human struggle and it does it well with great acting, great sound, great visuals and great action. I will admit that the wife and child in the pit was overdone but no film is perfect. It is so refreshing to not know any of the actors (see ONCE WERE WARRIORS). To all you historical skeptics start reading between the lines and try to be aware of the big picture.
