If the main point really is to avoid abortions, then why is it that that is the one topic that is completely avoided throughout the movie? And the idea of the film being predominantly flashbacks might be a successful, subtle, less direct way of telling the story, if a) they actually were used correctly and b) there was even a story to tell. Another thing: why would any sane woman assent to leaving her child with a man she has known for only 24 hours? If that actually happened, especially in New York City, who knows who this man might actually turn out to be. I am not disagreeing with the values portrayed in this movie, merely the way they are portrayed.
